Bathford C.C. Andrew James Murray
Northy
aka . Northey, Scranner, Stranski, Musky, Osgood-Schlatter (obscure reference)

Previous cricketing life in the Manchester Association with Earlstown CC, probably remembered there as a solid number 11. Captained school and took a hat-rick on debut aged 11. Started as a slow bowler when realised fast bowling extracted too much energy; still learning to extract 'spin'. Lived in Bath for 15 years and currently employed as a Probation Officer. Plays rugby for Avonvale RFC and football for local teams. Keen guitarist/singer and can be spotted busking in Bath on occasions. Went to school with Rick Astley.
Age
36 (dob 10/11/64-Scorpio)

Bathford debut
1987 after returning from Australia. First match vs Combe Hay away and was 6 and out after hitting ball in river. Also remember 0 for a lot and a dropped catch but don't publish that!

Basics
Right hand bat, middle order. Can grit it out or slog. Bowls slow right arm but yet to extract any turn. Handy fielder in deep but usually put too close to the bat, to ruin any chance of children in future. Can score and umpire if requested, skip, but at a loss when asked to prepare a pitch

P.B. for Bathford

Bowling – 6-27 v Seagry(2002)
Batting – 96 v Moredon R.O. (2001)

Worst Cricketing Moment
Captaining First Team v Mildenhall with 8 bodies (4 regulars) on FA Cup day. Lost toss, batted first, duck, 16 all out, lost by 10 wickets, 0 Points, game over before 3. I'd driven down from Newton-le-Willows that day to play.

Best Cricketing Moment
Feeling stressed out as captain as it looked as if we were about to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory v Collingbourne. Needing 5 to win off the last 5 balls Galer played out 3 dot balls before he skied one to slip. Fortunately Baller crossed and despatched the last ball tantalisingly over the boundary for 6. Over and out, cheers Baller.

Previous Clubs
Selwyn Jones High School, Newton-le-Willows CC Youth Team, Earlstown CC (all Merseyside). Wigan College of Technology CC, North East London Poly CC, Quarryman's Arms CC (Box), Dark Horse CC, Sundowners CC.

Cricketing motto('s)
Don't expect Baller to take a quick single if he hasn't hit it.
Never believe Paul when he says it will take spin (It will never spin for me!).
When the skipper asks you to field close to the bat don't believe it; when he says you're sharp - you're not that sharp you fool, no one else wants to go there.

Favourite Ground('s)
Combe Hay - fond memories of first game and cider at Tea.
Monkton Combe School pitch - perfectly manicured.
Bathford, the slope, what more of a challenge can you want in cricket.
