Bathford C.C. Carlos ‘fielding somewhere on the bottom boundary’ Aguera

Juan Carlos Aguera
Starting playing cricket for Chipping Sodbury 3rds in 1995. Wouldn’t say I excelled, as at the end of that first illustrious season a few of the team suggested I play hockey for Yate during the winter to see if I could improve my hand / eye co-ordination!(*) The invaluable lesson learnt from a winter of hockey was that I needed the summer playing cricket to see if I could improve my hand / eye co-ordination….

(*) alternative sentence, ‘try and learn how to make the bat make some kind of contact with the ball!’,

Age
36

Bathford debut
Lost in the mists of time, before I started drinking

Basics
(Still trying to learn them)
Bats RH, bowls RH inconsistent line and length, fields somewhere on the boundary.

P.B. for Bathford

Bowling Not worth mentioning, yet.
Batting - 30 something against Swindon 4ths

Worst Cricketing Moment
Any golden duck Too many to mention, but recently less often. (I hope I am not tempting fate)

Best Cricketing Moment
Firsts game against Collingbourne as described in Northey's player profile with the additional joy of listening a Collingbourne player fielding on the boundary enthusiastically saying ‘…whatever the result, it has been an exciting game.’, when it looked like we were weren’t going to make the total. However, after Ballers most excellent 6 off the last ball, he left the field somewhat less enthusiastically.
Also Darrel giving an umpire an official warning for being less than generous on his bowling!

Cricketing motto('s)

We bat all the way down

Favourite Ground('s)
Bathford, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home….
