Bathford C.C. Martyn Gale
Galer
aka Galer, 'Tiny Tears',
'where's that quick bloke, is he playing?' (this one from the opposition)

Mild mannered, placid opening bowler, who is always willing to laugh at other Bathford bowlers when they are being smeared all around (and out of) the ground.

Age
36

Bathford debut
1997, vs Nettleton & Castle Combe

Basics
Bats RH down the order, unless where chasing 300.
Bowls brisk RH long hops every other ball on slow wickets, more frequently on quicker ones.
Fields everything, anywhere

P.B. for Bathford

Bowling - 5-12, v Nettleton, 1997
Batting - 26, v Warminster III, 1998

Worst Cricketing Moment
Watching slow batting & bowling - a recurring nightmare

Best Cricketing Moment
Meeting Dave Porter in the pub, and telling him I had played a bit when I was younger, and him introducing me to Bathford CC. It was just what the club needed, another tall tale telling player full of braggadoccio.

Previous Clubs
Twerton cubs, until I burnt down the scout hut.
Hawthorn, Southdown and Batheaston Football clubs, where I started playing up front, went slowly backwards with age and ended up as substitute.

Cricketing motto('s)
"Never listen to Baller's pitch assessment its always wrong"
"Try putting slips in who can catch"
"If cricket ball were sandwichs, Ollie would catch it every time"

Favourite Ground('s)
Anywhere where the ball gets head high.
