Bathford C.C. Richard Bean
Defensive, high left elbow, play straight, ooh slogged it aka 'Beaner'
'Beaner' is the quiet man of Bathford, despite being an escapee from God's own country. He is a very orthodox batsman, but fortunately Jonah is now giving him lessons in playing across the line and slogging.
Age
Younger than the rest of the First team. Beaner, despite being just the wrong side of 30, is part of the clubs 'youth policy'.

Bathford debut
May 1998. After an ignominious club debut for the 2
nd
XI at Marshfield (bowled 3rd ball for a duck and dropped a catch) in true Bathford style, Beaner found himself 'promoted' to the 1st XI the following week

Basics
Still struggling with these.

P.B. for Bathford

Bowling You are joking, aren't you?
Batting - 63 against Collingbourne September 2001.

Worst Cricketing Moment
Wanborough. Details do not matter, as all games are bad at Wanborough.

Best Cricketing Moment
Achieved first golden for the club on the same day that Brian Lara achieved his first golden for the West Indies. An astonishing parallel.

Previous Clubs
Bridgnorth CC, Shropshire League

Cricketing motto('s)

Always check you know where you are going when playing away matches
(This could easily be substituted for never listen to Vowler's directions)
Never accept a drink off Selfy (It's either spiked or he wants something)
Never attempt a quick single with Jacko (You will kill yourself as he tries to make it a quick three)
Never attempt a quick single with Baller (You will end up at his end having a chat with him)
Learn the rules before you volunteer to umpire (failing that, never give your star batsman out off a no-ball, right Baller!)

Favourite Ground('s)
Bridgnorth/Quatt, Shropshire, Where I first played
Burwarton, Shropshire (the only ground I've played on where the boundary rope was an electric fence).
Bathford – for the slope, the holes, the views , the teas, the changing rooms. For just being Bathford.
